Car looks in better shape than the rest! SS Great Britain? Wikipedia entries are interesting. May have taken Warwick to Oz. He may be older than we think. Wrong ship Peter. Great great grandfather John Brooks and his family set sail from Liverpool on the 7th of November 1853(BB) on the Marco Polo, bound for Port Phillip. They arrived here 160 years ago next Monday. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marco_Polo_%28ship%29new-brunswick.net/marcopolo/index.html

Hi Andy, you are not far off. This is the road facing the Hippodrome (Baldwin Street). The Hippodrome is still standing and the roof still opens (a sort of Webasto roof for a theatre) so thanks for that. Ah, the good old days of hippopotamus racing in the UK.

Warwick, totally useless Australian fact. Apparently one of my ancestors brought the first bread making machine to Australia.

That picture brings back memories for me, as in the early 1970's I worked in the Ford Motor Company district office in Baldwin Street Bristol.
Our company cars at that time were Mark 4 Zodiacs, and we were just getting into selling Mark 3 Cortinas as and when we could get them. I say selling, in those days there were more buyers than cars so it was more like allocating them. The Mark 4 Zephyrs and Zodiacs were a hard sell though.
I also remember our rear office windows looked over the harbour area by the bridge, where a sand dredger came to unload. it was an entertainment to watch it turning round using ropes and winches in the channel which was only a few feet wider than the ship was long!

Had to use Percy today as the daily hack is off the road. we paid a visit to a friend who has a very nice garden, and I managed to take a few cheeky pictures. Also managed to slip in an oil change today, I had forgotten just how nice old Percy drives, really enjoyed it today, I am going to regret selling him I think.

That's the second club car today!

Lack of time, and lack of use And I really need the garage space for all my tools, self employment has its downsides.

Garden does indeed look lovely! Why is it on this thread? A picture a day, not been many of late, so I thought I would use up some of the allowance Besides the setting was just right for some tidy pics, and I thought I would share them here, sorry the comment of me selling him is me letting off steam, I have a chap who has been nagging me to sell it to him for a while now, and I am now at a low ebb, and liable to accept.

Sorry to hear that Andy and you have my sympathies for the self-employment trap although it is swings and roundabouts.(I work self-employed) I would now work for a decent company if it had the right benefits....not much chance of that for me now. Sorry you are at a low ebb, maybe not a good time to sell?? Whatever your descision try not to have any regrets Keep the faith Nice photos

I know how you feel Andy I bought my P5B in 1986 to refurbish I didn't get round to it until 2008, you just have to many things to do when when you self employed. During that time I done 7000 miles . You always get highs and lows running your own business. Just don't do any rash which you might regret

Haven't been able to post anything for a while so thought I'd give it a try with a new piccie... www.flickr.com/photos/21403537@N00/13819663724/It's great to have both cars tucked up in a new garage but alas the P5B is still waiting for it's exhaust blow to be sorted once and for all. Not driven it since last September!

Hi Alan, yes sorry for not keeping in touch! Typically the Mini is misfiring so that needs sorting out asap, need to get it done as I've got several Mini shows to attend this year. Will pop over once it's sorted mate. How's your Burnt Grey beast doing... is it finished yet...? It'd be good to get both P5Bs together for some photos at some point. N ;O)

Was also reading your reply in Norvin's new carpet thread - you say you're recolouring your interior - are you changing the colour or just revamping the Mulberry...? I like my Saddletan but would love Mulberry in the car instead!

Not driven it since last September! Good photos. Seeing the P5B next to a 'proper' Mini reinforces how big the P5s seemed when they were new, compared with other cars then on the road. P5s parked alongside modern cars just don't look as big as they always seemed to be. Having said that, 'proper' Minis do look small when mixing with day to day traffic, let alone parked alongside the BMW so-called Mini. I suspect that some of them are bigger than the original Maxis
