After a lot of hassle the configuration in the P5 parts book and WS manual are incorrect it shows a Parallel front shaft and a Parallel rear shaft where the P5b is in fact a Crossed front and a Parallel rear so the shaft I have here has been done incorrectly Thanks to Phil, Cyf and Miguel for the pictures So whether the early P5's were different as they used tapered shims in the axle to compensate for the diff nose being low and they didn't alter the book "Who Knows"

Typical Rover Co though - all mine are the same ie P4/P5 Mk2c and P5B but with 3 litres there were 4 transmission types during its producation and High and Lowsuspension options

The more you get into the P5 Transition the more errors you find in the Manuals
