I'm not sure if it's a rover colour but this looks nice, any one have an idea what this colour is called?

I think it looks a bit light to be a P5 colour.
The only Rover one I can think of that is vaguely similar is Copperleaf red, series 1 P6s from 1963-early 1966, although IIRC that was a bit darker.
It's always a bit difficult trying comparing a newly applied and well waxed shine to what most look like on the road!
Agree that it's a nice colour though.

Steve,
Would you like me to ask the owner? It's only listed as burgundy and white in the club register.
When I first started searching the internet for coupe photos in late 2006, before I bought one, that photo and one of Glenn's were the first images I found and downloaded.

Yes please Warwick, if you can confirm the name of the colour and maybe paint code it would be very handy, the colour looks great, although it could look different in real life, computer screens etc. Thanks

Leave it with me.
If you e-mail me your e-mail address, I'll send you a couple more photos taken somewhere else. The colour looks that same so it's likely to be accurate and not a trick of the light or the camera.

Steve,
I haven't been able to contact the owner yet, but other club members that I've spoken to about it believe that it is either Venetian Red or Brigade Red - both P6 colours.

Nice colour,is that 73=1976? Steve: if your question relates to my earlier entry, it was correct as original posted (to be more accurate, it was available Oct 1963 - Aug 1965). It is NOT the same Copperleaf as used by MG Rover on the Rover 75s. I have posted your photo on the P6 forum to see if there are any thoughts from those on there who are far more informed than me! Be aware that Rover had problems with that original Copperleaf Red when it came to bodyshop matching etc. and, IIRC, they actually reformulated it during the time it was available. Venetian Red was available from June 1966 - Dec 1967, when it was replaced by Brigade Red which continued until Sept 1971. Apologies for the delay in replying, I didn't see the question in your post. www.classicroverforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=9329

The view from those wiser than me on the P6 forum is that it is NOT a P6 colour (well, not a Solihull one). I've looked at a photo of my old Copperleaf series 1 P6 and concur that it is not that colour. Definitely not Copperleaf, Brigade or Venetian red. Unless, it's an Australian version, of course.......................

Well I like a challenge as a painter I have many old chips but always hard from a photo of course. It looks like several I have here so I'll just list them. Those that have seen the real car may know what these look like in the flesh and deem them wrong or possibles LandRover Poppy Red code CMK from '65-'72 Land/Range Rover Masai Red code CCC or 378 from '71-'85 (the nearest by eye on screen) Rover Carnelian code CDE '75-'80 also listed under Triumph same code Rover Monza red code CCB '75-'80 Triumph Monza CMV and Triumph Emberglow CMN look possibles The years shown are not gospel but what ICI listed at time of print. They're not always accurate Don't get on here much but saw the mention on the Classic Rover Forum. I'll check back to see what happens
