Evening All.
A little tired from driving the old girl 5 hours home from the track but she coped wonderfully.
I dont know if I came last yet but there is a good chance. The times come out later on so Ill post up a link when I get it.
I must admit that it went surprisingly well. It is such a balanced car. Although it barely went fast at all, the brakes were as good as the suspension which was as good as the engine etc. I think if I were to improve one I would need to improve all other areas at the same time.
No brake fade at all. The gearbox was perfect and I remember seeing 60mph on the speedo in 2nd gear a few times.
Heaps of body roll had the tyres howling the whole way round but that was part of the fun. I had every clerk and steward come up to me on the dummy grid (usually a bad thing) to tell me a story about one or how much they enjoy watching it swan around.
I have no in car footage sadly as I couldnt get my 12v adapter to work but there will be some taken from the hill over the next couple of days.

Nice car Damian. Looks good in white. You're either really going for it given the roll angles shown in the pix or the suspension is very soft. Have fun and hopefully it won't get bent. When are you going to fit the side exit exhausts for that Bathurst look ~ Vince

Gday Vince,
The suspension was bog stock as I wanted a starting point. Plus I was pushing as hard as I could. I only spun a few times which was always good fun. Unless you spin it you dont really know where the limit is.
I may have come last but I managed an 800km round trip and didnt open the bonnet all day...which is more than I can say for the trailer queens and their pit crews!
Side pipes is great but I want to make it look a little stock! A blower hanging out of the bonnet would be a laugh but the p76 donk should be more than enough!!!!

Looks great Damian.
How fast would you have been going through those corners in the photos? I was expecting to see more body roll than that. She does look like she's about to lift an inside wheel but isn't as low down on the outside as I was expecting. Doesn't look at all wallowy. Was it?

Until I see the footage I wont be able to know what speed exactly. I am guessing round 50mph most corners and probably 30 for the fish hook as its tight and off camber. Coming out of that one is uphilll and anybody who outbraked me on the tight fish hook would be retaken shortly after pretty easily.
It had massive body roll but wasnt wallowy I think. It would lean to one side round a corner but after the corner it would strait up and not wallow around. Never did it feel the suspension would give way or it would roll. Even when I spun.
I was very surprised to see more oversteer than understeer which was a lot easier to control. It helped having a slippery track although it wasnt wet.
Plenty of potential and much more to come hopefully.

I see you're about to lap him; having already knocked off the XU-1 in the previous photo. Well done!

Well done mate, great photos. I wish you were a bit closer in the world for me to come and watch!
I reckon getting some adjustable shocks is going to make the world of difference.
Best of luck and get that 12v adaptor working! ;D
