Both pictures have appeared in your first two posts on this page Ken, but not in your 3rd attempt. Happy New Year.

Here's my 3rd go-around at home schooling. I added listing wires around and under the pleated section piping and then plastic zip ties to draw them down. But I should have used more to even it out better. Velvet, if you're out there, how did the factory (and you) pull down the pleated section with the coil springs in the way??

Ken. you've done a fine job, you've got some creases which unfortunately you will not get rid of now but i would say that its acceptable as after time and usage some creases will appear anyway. You asked how i or rover pulled the flutes piping down, well thats easy to answer, its not pulled down at all ! (unlike the P5b & mk3 which ARE.) When the cover is stitched the process is ; you stitch the flutes, then you stitch the piping around them, then you stitch the leather bolster section around that, and then you stitch a 10 inch wide platform heavy linen (calico) around the flute section, and obviously the outer piping and border is stiched in after that. Then to achieve a slight recess around the fluted section the latex rubber section is placed and sandwiched between the leather bolster section and the linen platform and only then is the cover placed on the sprung base and the pulling/tucking/stretchig/hemming/undoingagain/pullingabitmoreagain etc etc keeping an eye on symetry till you get it right! I've seen from the previous pics you put up that you replaced the latex with new polyurathane foam and that is fine, but it will have a softer density to the seat but that also is fine. So again i congratulate you as you have gone further than most enthusiasts would and the final result is very acceptable. These pics show the last MK11 i done about 4 years ago now and the fluted section is done in the way i just described.

Wow, beautiful work once again Velvet! Thanks for your explanation! I've still got more work to do on the other seat, so I'll still keep trying to do better each time!

One for Velvet,
Regarding my late model 73 P5B saloon and its I am told thinner front seats on my model year, do you supply ONLY new foams for the front seats only at all or know where I can get them from please??? Are they a pre-shaped item or do you cut them to shape yourself as a trimmer??
Mine are showing signs of dedragation which is to be expected and I would like to have a go myself at doing my front seat foams if possible. Your advice and guidance is valued.
Regards, Brendan
