Since returning from the Winton Historics in Victoria with the BMC Leyland Car Club I've been slowly repairing/rebuilding/restoring a range of things on my coupe. The original issue was a cracked transmission case. To effect a repair of this the complete engine (P76 V8) and trans needs to be removed as a unit. (No guys...I'm not about to grovel under the car attempting to remove the transmission) So...one thing at a time! Interestingly, as I remove a component it becomes obvious that each item needs some TLC. The car has given me virtually 24 years of regular use...so I can't blame it! The most current job was to do some repairs on the exhaust manifolds which I originally built when the V8 was first fitted. For those that know these cars, it's a mildly modified MK3 not a P5B. Here are some pix of the car and of the PS manifold being repaired. The last image also includes the DS manifold.
