I work with a group trying to disrupt these scams (which have cost some people thousands). Dont ever open an e-mail that the 'seller' sends to you if you reply to his request to get in touch for a price etc. The reply will normally contain a virus or other attempt to obtain details of your ebay account which they then hack and use to post still more scams. The pictures and sometimes descriptions are often copied from genuine ebay sales or obtained via a google search. If in doubt of the authenticity of a Rover etc for sale its worth asking on a forum or researching the pictures, but any that have an e-mail address to contact for a buy now price are almost certainly a scam and if you buy off ebay you have even less chance of recompense than if you do. Ebay are often very slow in removing these scams, there are groups who deliberately place extravagant bids to discourage people from bidding and getting caught, this normally means the so called seller cancels them but usually (as happened with the ones Davidg and I posted) they are back again within hours under another account name. Up date Just to prove my point the three litre has just been relisted. ebay three litre scam unbelievably ebay have allowed the seller to block bids from certain people,so I cannot bid on this one!

I normally bid on any that I see,it used to frighten the wife seeing me bid £20000 each for a half dozen cars! So far I have spent over a million but my garage space hasn't diminished at all.
