Hi everyone, I have had at least one P5 all my life since the age of 17 - I love their understated, comfy, leather interior-clad british muscle car type look. For almost all that time their has been friendly banter between Coupe and Saloon owners, especially in the Sussex area where I come from! So once and for all, lets put it to the world, which LOOKS the BEST?!! I've set the poll for 1 month from today. Just for fun..... remember ... its never over in a Rover P.S. Everyone knows they only made Saloons to ensure there were a plentiful supply of parts for the Coupe as time went by ....

How about the best colour, so many coupes have lovely coloured roofs - and then it all goes wrong

You take what you can get, especially in Australia. If the coupe was a real coupe with two doors there would be no argument. Most Americans would ask us why we even bother with a four door car.

Well, most Americans would at least ask why Rover calls a 4-door car a "Coupe"! I'd still go for the Coupe design over the saloon though.

If I remember correctly, it originally referred to a carriage or car that had been shortened, - cut. (Coupe is French for Cut). The P5 Coupe has the roof 'cut'. Or chopped, as the rodders would say.

Bang on Warwick, CoupÉ (with an accent) does mean cut or chopped and therefore refers to the roof. Nothing to do with doors.

Yes, I always though the 'cut' referred to the roof pillars and therefore the roof height, which is definitely lower on the P5 Coupe, so it qualifies in my book. That many coupes have 2-doors is probably just to maximise the 'sporty' image created by the lower roofline.

I guess they just forgot to tell us Americans about the 4 doors.

Rover P5B saloon in Bordeaux with Buck Skin for me You have my all time personal favouriate colour and model but i'll settle for my Admiralty Blue/Buckskin Saloon all day long over a coupe. I also think a period webasto roof suits the car well also and with headrests all round. I'd also like to know why the poll has been locked/expired??? Regards,
