After a few years away from the forum due to family ill health, now sorted, I've just renewed my P5 club membership and will be lurking again. Some of you may still be traumatised after helping me with 13 pages of advice re brakes in about 2015. I've got the car going again, having worked out the reason I was buying a battery every few months was leakage in the system, so now I just disconnect the battery after every run. Pictures taken outside Geelong last week. Brakes not binding! No hot wheels! If you see something wrong with the car in these pictures, tell me gently please. Feels good to be back! Michael.

Welcome back to the forum, and what a lovely car!
But fix the current drain! It will not get better by itself. At least you have a reasonable selection of fuses to pull out one at a time to isolate it, or at least narrow it down.

I wondered where you went, Michael. Glad to here you're ok, and welcome back. I came through Geelong yesterday.

Thanks DJM. I knew nothing about cars when I acquired the Rover 16 years ago, but with blow by blow guidance from this forum I have now experience in carb rebuilding, priming an oil pump, putting on an electric fuel pump, relining a flaky fuel tank, refurbishing brakes from master cylinder backwards, and a need to put relays on the headlights. But electrics is something that scares me, in that I have no understanding of the diagrams and symbols, or even of the principles involved. Always happy to learn however! Sounds like you might have some expertise in this area which would be great. My assumption was that the problem was old wiring, and the thought of putting in a new loom was a transplant too far away. Might be best if I tackle this in a new thread, maybe 'hey dude, where's my electricity?' Thanks again! Michael.

Thanks Warwick, one of my most stoic electronic supporters through thick and thin! Were you driving a Rover through Geelong yesterday???

Alas no, Michael. Still haven't found the time to put it back together after dealing with a blown head gasket many years ago. And I wasn't even driving my trusty old Range Rover, as it's now getting a bit tired and in need of some TLC. I was driving my late mother-in-law's 11-year-old Kia Rio. (Which I must add is a wonderful little car)
