Membership of the Rover P5 Club starts in April. So now is a good time to join. Established in 1985, the club has continued to grow and is now regarded as the World’s largest club for the P5 and P5B models. With the range of benefits on offer to club members, it makes perfect financial sense to be a member of the Rover P5 Club. Run by enthusiasts for enthusiast was our motto then and this still rings true today. For more information visit: www.roverp5club.org.uk/

So who would pay for and administer this forum if the club did not? Some club members may not be happy their subs are being used in this way.

Hi. The pedant in me, after reading the blurb on the Rover home page, notes at bottom of page some errors re: 'Saloon and Coupe differences for i.d. purposes'. 1/. Saloon doesn't have rectangular front 1/4 lights, nor separate exterior front door locks.
2/. Coupe doesn't have triangular front 1/4 lights, nor exterior locks in front door handles. I checked the '58-on models, but may be missing something? Paul.

I personally DONT have an issue with it Phil as a paying member. In fact IMHOP its a good thing as then things like bandwidth can be expanded so posting up pictures would be a lot simpler just like it is on all the other forums I use. No one seems to have an issue either weather they be payers or freebie users.
I aint arguing the toss anymore either as it has become very clear to me since joining that it is a very closed ranks club which is my own opinion at the end of the day and I certainly wont change how I feel to suit those who run it all like it or not.
I'll just get as much out of it as I can and for my paid subs I pay and accept things wont change for the better in certain areas. After all there is no need being bothered about things in life I have no influence over paid member or not.
Regards,

Still don't understand why you have such an attitude Brendan when so many people here have come to your assistance. Is it because when you asked me to post up your photos, because you couldn't be and I quote 'arsed' to do it yourself, I declined?
Sorry to read about your dissatisfaction, but I am at a loss at to what more you expect. :-(

I don't have an attitude at all David and its got nothing at all to do with asking you to post up some pics for me either so by posting that is just you behaving like a child telling tales. I think as admin you should be behaving a lot more grown up instead of bitchin online for the sake of making you feel better. I'm now beginning to see this is not the kind of club I thought it was. Lots of decent folk yes BUT sadly a lot of set in their ways unwilling to change lot too.
Don't think i'll bother anymore. I'll leave you old and bold and not willing to change lot to play with your trainset as you wish.
Enjoy

Sorry to read you feel that way Brendan. I was at a loss why you would post such comments and the only thing I could think of, that would warrant such a reply, was you 'asking' me to post your photos.
If I have offended you, then I apologise, but as I said before, it does not explain why you would make such comments and so I ask again what more do you want from the club?

... and I quote 'arsed' to do it yourself, ... Credit where credit is due, David. It's spelt correctly, which is unusual these days. Most people seem to think it has something to do with donkeys.

I don't know why you are apologising David no need to! As I said previous it's no trouble to load pics to a 3rd party site takes less time than posting a topic! As you were David

Brendan. Like most things in life, you get out of this club what you put in. Some people, such as admin David, put in a tremendous amount. Most of us get out more than we put in both via this forum and local meetings. I certainly could not run my P5B without the help of the club. Anyway, if you decide not to renew your membership remember to notify your insurance company as if you don't your insurance will be invalid.

Its probably an apt time to point out the club is the sum of its members and membership. Some people want to be spoon fed, some like to take the lead. Either way you can only expect to get out what you put in. If you want to change attitudes... take the lead, but respect that people have a variety of opinions. Cheers to the club, take my money and give me a shiny magazine every couple of months, cheap parts, cheaper insurance and a great local pub meet so I can take the mickey out of local saloon owners. See you at the next Rover Rally

I have been a member of this club since the 80s, I have also been a member of various other clubs, but none of them have been as friendly and welcoming as the P5 Club. The club is run by volunteers, so no one is paid. David probably puts more into the club than anyone else, including producing one of the best magazines in the classic car world, he devotes a huge amount of time to the club, for which the members are very grateful.
Brendan, you have told us that you have an Aston Martin, the Aston Martin Owner's Club has an annual membership fee of £105, plus an aditional joining fee - what do you get for that ?

OK folks, I think this subject has run it's course.
I accept that the club is fine for many, but not idea for a few. As a club we do always listen to constructive ideas and suggestions from our members. Some ideas we take up and some not, but all are considered. In fact your club committee gave up a day this Saturday discussing such. As you were.
