Hi, I do not know if anyone on here can help but I Used to own a 1968 silver birch p5b saloon registration number VUW550G. It belonged to my father before me and was in Our family for many years. I also used it as my wedding car. The interior was Mulberry. I spotted it online this year in fact there was A video on YouTube of it starting up and been driven. This was a few years old though. I really want to locate The owner of the Rover. My daughter is getting married On the 10th April 2019 and woul love to hire it from the Owner if willing to do so. This car has great sentimental value To our family. If anyone can help please message me. I live and Work in Darwin NT Australia so message me on here. My daughters Wedding is in Sussex UK. Many thanks Michael Hewitt

an MoT was issued in February 2018 so hopefully VUW 550G is still living. You can find MoT record for recent years here vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ViewVehicle and for a small fee around £10 I think DVLA can provide info about historical vehicles but not details of current owner because of data protection. Lets hope it can be traced and available to make the day!

Have you seen this image? Since you can order a print from them, they should really have the owner's data. I'd ask them to forward an email from you to VUW550G's owner ( here's their contact form).
Good luck and keep us posted!

Hi Colin McA, the phone number in the advert does not work so must be disconnected. I have found out though through the club secretary the owner of VUW550G is possibly a member of the club and a regional representative is trying to make contact with the owner for me, so fingers crossed!!

Fingers crossed, it looks like a lovely car.
Rare and refreshing to see a long lost car post actually finding one still in good condition and not went to the grave yard.

ROVER P5B SALOON VUW550G 1968 HAS BEEN FOUND!! My late father will be looking down on me smiling right now!!
Great big thank you to Geoff the club secretary and Ray the regional representative for their time and effort on this. This is truly a great club to be a member of. One day i hope to be an active member with my old P5B back in my hands now i know where it is.
On a downside, unfortunately the car is having carburettor problems so will not be ready for the wedding and will be off the road for months. After I sold it, the car was fitted with carbs from a Volvo!!
So my next quest......and I know there isn't much time but here goes.
The Bride and me will need to be picked up in Lingfield, wedding ceremony in Crawley Sussex and the reception is being held at place called Blackstock in East sussex on the 10th April 2019.
Does anyone have or know of anyone who would be willing to hire out their P5B Saloon or Coupe for the big day. I do not mind what colour it just has to be in very good condition. If there is another silver birch Saloon or Coupe similar to VUW550G that would be fantastic!!
Please do not hesitate to contact me on here or email me on michaelhewitt558@gmail.com.
Thanks again for the efforts and time from Geoff and Ray.
Father of the bride!!
Michael

So how did you find it then? Apparently, the owner is not a member of the club, or at least that's what I understood.
