Hi Paul and Stephen, Thinking of you, your community and our fellow NZ forum members at this terrible time. There is no need for me to tell you that we across the ditch, are standing by your side. We hope that you, your families and friends have not been directly affected, but recognise that you will all be indirectly affected. Most of us can't even begin to imagine what it must be like, not just for those of you in Christchurch, but throughout NZ. I was going to send you a message privately on the weekend, but I thought it was a bit premature. I've just been watching our ABC TV news for an update. There was a live broadcast of your PM's address to parliament today. Very moving. I'm sure it will go down in history as one of the great speeches.
It prompted me to contact you publicly, as it will give our global P5 community the opportunity to join in with moral support. Warwick

Yes, well said Warwick. It's easy to forget that while extremists on every side make all the noise, the great majority of people in the world stand peacefully together, living their lives with none of the hollow-hatred that makes the news. Jacinda Ardern has shown great dignity and strength.

Thanks Warwick. That means a lot. I haven't met anyone in Christchurch yet who isn't affected directly or indirectly. So many harrowing stories and close calls. I know Australian citizens have had their own hell at times too. Jacinda will sort the gun problem out. Thank you all again. Paul. edit:spelling.

Here here.
It is also good to see a democracy acting on gun control, 1 death is 1 too many.
The torment those poor families are going through I just cant imagine

The highly visible Christchurch community response was inspiring to watch and hopefully gives a glimpse of the future. This dreadful incident may have the complete opposite effect to that intended. A tipping point. I hope so.

Hi Andy. Thanks for that. I fell over on Wednesday and tore my foot off. Popped it back in and spent 3 days in the hospital where the gunshot victims were. The stories I heard....and the kids crying at night, was heart-rending. I was told that the Muslim Mosque is now opening their doors to any religion. Now that would be great. Paul.

Good grief, Paul. Just what you didn't need. I hope it doesn't take too long to heal. I presume you mean you dislocated your ankle.

Hi Warwick. Yeah, that was it. I hit the deck and foot popped out at right angles. I figured I had 5 secs until passing out, so I grabbed it and wrenched it back in. Wifey stoic, watching. 6 weeks off. That's operation number 16 so far in 40 years. I'm an idiot.
