Hello, I am in the process of restoring a Mk 3 coupe. A work in progress. What I would like to do is replace the middle radio console and radio with the wooden locker that came with these cars when a radio was not ordered. I have 2 questions. First, how could I come across a wooden locker ? Do these ever come up for sale on this forum or, eg, eBay. > Second, how do you remove this centre radio console ?
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

I am a bit hazy as it has been a few years, but I think there are two countersunk screws accessible from the underside of the radio panel. You will also have to remove tuning and volume knobs to undo the retaining nuts on the tuning and volume pots. I think the panel then just swings up.

The Radio section comes out complete with the Radio and Speaker by removing the screws underneath, the Centre console doors are a bit hard to find you will also need the metal bridge piece that the hinges are screwed to it fills the gap left using the same mounting holes.

Hi I have a P5B and contemplated with removing the radio and fitting a locker you need to contact someone like Dave Green or Mark Cossey for the parts you need they will have what you want
