gday everyone... im doing up a 59 P5 in Australia.
just wondering where to get parts from (anyone from OZ know).
i know i can get parts from the UK but the part im chasing is a R/H/Rear door for a sedan and to get that from the UK would cost big $$$$ i would think.
also are the rear doors the same from 58 to 73 on the sedans??
cheers Rod

Almost the same - the Mk1 door handles have different fixings as are slightly narrower at the base. The hole in panel is thus different but can be easily sorted
Hope you can source some more local spares for yourself - we would like any corrosion free body panels though as well

Hi Rod,
As a starting point, you need to get to know Bruce Duncan in Sydney, Chris Forsey in Canberra and Mark Richmond in Melbourne. Bruce and Chris seem to know everything that is going on with respect to Rovers in their respective areas. Mark wrecks P5s and P6s for a living.
Send me a PM or e-mail and I can give you their contact details.
Regards, Warwick.

Rod, That's unusual. I haven't had a reply either so I'd say they are both away. Contact Gianni on the e-mail address I sent you and phone Mark. Both are in Vic and so much further from you.

I had to look twice myself. It's roughly the same time of the year.

hi Rod, I am in Australia 1.5 hours south of Sydney. I have a good selection of Rover P5 panels and indeed, most parts for P5.
regards, Stuart

Mark and Scott are brothers and reside quite close to where I live in Melbourne. Scott has recently closed his shop and now apparently sells his auto rubber products online. Mark has also closed his small factory, is selling up and moving to the country Ballarat to live. I believe he's moving all his Rover parts there as well. He can be contacted through the Rover CC Victorian Branch or on Facebook.

Mark will be moving to Ballarat at the end of the year. He will still be doing the P5 and P6 Rover Wrecking thingy, but at the new location, and his mobile will still be the same. Good news for me as I will not have to travel so far (from Adelaide) to get parts Cheers, Geoff Rogers.

Hi Mike - the NSW / ACT Club is a good starting point - www.roverownersclub.com.au - they have a list of suppliers as part of the regular newsletter, and also have a parts officer. There is a club Facebook group, a National P5/P6 Facebook group and a national mailing list that is run out of the Victorian club. Plenty of parts were sold as part of the wind up of the Flynn estate late last year, and hopefully these will emerge onto the market progressively - best access will probably be through club contacts. Mark Richardson in Victoria will be an important point of call. I have a P4 and a Mk II P5 - the detail variation in the P5 3 litres is fascinating but a bit of a bother - there is plenty of support but it is pretty dispersed! Good luck with your Mk III.

Hi. Yes it is frustrating not being able to get parts in Australia for the p5. I am after brake pads for my Mk lll and can only get them from the UK. Could some one put on here a list of suppliers in Australia and other people can add to it, new on here and not sure how to get the ball rolling.

Depending on what you are buying it may still be cheaper buying from the UK.
I've just ordered window felt seals, hoses and a few service parts and it's costing me less than just the window seals local.
Do some research, I've found some parts are the same as early Land Rovers and parts are easy to get and cheap.
Front Disk pads are available as EBC DP2199, see if there is a local equivalent, looks like it was used on a lot of early cars.
