That is a very valid point. I will quite happily raise your point at the next committee meeting to address the observation you have made and see what can be done about holding a National Rally next year up North maybe.

Z it's not always down south it moves around the country, subject to volunteers willing to host it. The main choice of location is which regional rep is willing to organise it. I don't know which part of the country you're in but if you have a local pub meet try encouraging other members to volunteer to hold it. As a committee we do seek to move it around as much as possible but if the only volunteer is in Hampshire the National isn't going to be held in Yorkshire.

I agree with Peter on the point of members/reps willing to take on the mantle of arranging such an event. The organization needed for any rally particularly the National is alot to take on. I have nothing but respect for those who do so. As I have said, I will quite happily mention it at the next committee meeting. In the meantime if there are any reps from the North (or anywhere else) who may be interested in taking on the responsibilty of arranging an future rally/event then please let us know.

The National has been held in the north of England three times over the years. 1st at Tatton Park near Manchester, 2nd in the Lake District and the 3rd time at Haigh Hall near Bolton. Pete Madden has explained why it is held at the various venues. What part of the North do you live in?

Hi Glenn We do not have a more northern rep than me in England who is active. I am Northwest, we don't have a pub meet in the Northeast and we don't have a rep in the Midlands. If Z thinks the Milestones is south wait until next year, any more south than that and you get your feet wet. At the moment I am working, but not for long. As you know I am a regional rep and a committee member as Regional Rep Coordinator and now I have taken over club spares. If Z lives in the northwest and wants to help out maybe I might do one again in 2013/14.

I wouldn't mind a drive up to the North West though. z are you still there?? As I have said I will try to make the next meeting and we can have a chat then At the end of the day it can only be held in areas where the reps are available and willing to take on the responsibility. I understand that.

Even if you held in almost the middle of the country as last year - it would still be too far and expensive for some members to get to - at least moving it around to nearer the corners gives others the chance

One thing that came out of previous Nationals was the number of people who 'know' each other on the forum by name, but have not met face to face. Space for your actual name and your forum name belowSo the Rover P5 Club have put together a name badge (click on link below) which you can print off, fill in and wear on the day. After all our Nationals are as much a social event as a a collection of cars.Attachments:
