Passport to Pimlico style. The people's republic of Lewisham and surrounding areas ;D The Dutch House pub on the A20 just past Kidbrooke is a huge boozer... maybe i could hold court with myself there once a month!

Join the club and start one mungo said. Hmmm... i tried that and got railroaded! All I asked was for you to work with another member to start a pub meet. I live 200 miles from you. I thought the two of you living a lot rearer to each other could sort somthing out but you did not. Now you have been railroaded.

I thought the two of you living a lot rearer to each other could sort somthing out but you did not. Now you have been railroaded. Kinda... yeah Point at hand was that i wanted to start a South East London division, but was corralled into a joint South East London / Kent / North Kent amalgamation type scenario, which wasn't working for me personally. Dartford and beyond is a schlepp for someone living where i live, and i wouldn't want to make the journey once a year let alone once a month. Meeting up with other members from outside your own personal habitat is something for the annual rally, so for the rest of the year i'd rather stay in the local. In any case, hard liners frown in my direction as i try to breathe new life into old cars, so a couple of hours with purists fails on pretty much every level it has to be said, as i don't want people tutting every time i mention the Range Rover seats i've fabricated into my Coupe... and again when i say 5 speed manual conversion... and again when i say starts with a button not a key... and so it goes on! The Dutch House pub is basically where the A20 meets the A205, so its wide open, as in members can come round the north or south circular road... from the north they can come through the Blackwall tunnel, and from the south they can come from the M25. I do not live in Kent, so i do not want to join a Kent area region. I live in South East London... ergo, i would merely like South East London to be a region in its own right. Kent, as a region, is mahoosive... its huge... from inside the M25 all the way down to the coast, and as such, does not need South East London attached to it like a wart or appendix.

Hi Andy We have two London meets, one near Heathrow and another at Brooklands Motor Museum. Any of them any good for you? Pete Collins TOTALLY NON INTENTIONAL DOUBLE POSTING BUT I FEEL THAT THE FOLLOWING NEEDS TO BE SAID....... Two London meets... 1 near Heathrow, the other just down the road from Heathrow, which means you're ok if you live in west, north west or south west london / home counties areas. So what about those who live in east, south east, north east london? From chingford, Big Al, could buzz through the pipe and be at the Dutch House in 20 minutes if the roads are empty... i used to live in walthamstow, so from the waterworks roundabout, turn right at redbridge, ten minutes later youre at blackwall, five minutes later the Dutch House.... Pretty much a good call for having my own region

Hi Mungo, you only need 1 other member to turn up and you got yourself a pub meet! Last I knew pub meets didn't have to be santioned by the club you just need a few people willing to meet on a regular basis. If I was you I'd put a note on the forum and see if anyone wants to meet up! If you fancy a run down to the coast we meet 2nd Wednesday at the bottom of the A23 in Shoreham (The Royal Coach). We'd love to see your modded motor

All these people wanting local meets! The E Mids is huge but cannot even manage a handful If anyone wants to start a club meeting just contact me and we can discuss it. I am the Regional Representative Coordinator. If I remember correctly Mungo wanted to start a meeting within about 15 miles of another person who was trying at the time to also start a club meeting. I asked them to get together and maybe sort out an agreed venue. Mungo could not and said he would leave it to the other person. Now he complains!!

Mungo and Roy of the Rover, if you want to start a pub meet that is entirely up to you, but it does seem a shame that you use this, the Rover P5 CLUB forum to try and organise something that you specifically describe as a non P5 Club meet. A bit like biting the hand that feeds you. Our pub meets are open to both members and non-members of the Rover P5 Club Anyway, if you two would like to do so, then perhaps liaise via PMs.
