Upon stripdown of the box i found that the 10 bolts holding in clutch brake four completely solid, to the point that all 10 of them rounded off ( 27 torx bit ) and i had to drill them all out so when i finally got it on to the bench i had a good hard look at it,as these should not have been anywhere near that tight. The pictures show that when this part was manufactured, the holes drilled do not line up where they are supposed to thus when it was assembled it was pulled into a position which jammed all the bolts in situ. Goes to show that even so called precision parts are sometimes at fault, ( and i almost overlooked it too,it was only when i looked at the inside of the drum that i noticed it ). Check and check again is the motto of the day. Adjusted by Admin

John,
I have 'adjusted' them.
For anyone thinking of adding photos please try and kep them to a sensibe size i.e. no more than 800 pixels wide.
Thanks

Nearly there now with the rebuild, it looks really good and am well happy with it all. For those who may be interested in this conversion i will start to add all the mods required to fit it in the car and make it work. This is one of the items that need to be modified,it is the original p5b selector gate verses the new gate for the selection of the gears ( the new one is silver, but this is only a plastic pattern to get a pair made) click on image.
