The Perspex sun visor for the sunroof on my rover p5b coupe is hanging down a bit too low and it seems that there is some slack in the hinges/brackets. The problem with this is that it makes contact with my head when driving. Surely this cannot be normal! Am a bit concerned at the prospect of decapitation in the event of an accident! Is there an easy fix or some adjustment that can be made?

Hi Dave, I have seen some new hinges on ebay, under britax sunroof, maybe this would sort it? I fancy having one fitted in my coupe, could you give a rough overall size of yours please. I see MGB is 33 inches square, 30 inch hole size

Many thanks I will have a look on ebay. I will measure the roof for you and post the dimensions in the next couple of days.

They only seem to do one model now Steve if you are going new? I have recovered a couple in the past making the cover wasn't too bad but the wires and rusty steel were no fun SUNROOFWebasto UK

Nice links John, interesting that folk still make sunroofs for retro-fitting, looking at that advert the thickness may be an issue fitted to a coupe though, I'll check it out. Thanks

Have just contacted the sole webasto agent in the uk. The hinges have been re manufactured new at £70 a piece! Will be taking mine apart to see if they can be repaired before I resort to this.

Dave, contact Peter Harvey. His details are on here and are on the www. He used to work for webasto and restores weathershield and webasto. I have a weathershield - metal frame so a bit flimsy. The webasto has a wooden frame and I tthink it has more structural strength.

Thanks for the tip Baldrick. I think that the sunroof is a nice addition to the car but I have a feeling it is going to add to my restoration costs. Cheers. Dave
