I will soon be replacing the sills on my p5b coupe and having removed the wings I have noticed that the bottom 3 inches of the A post is rotten on one side and has been patch repaired on the other. know this is quite common and that JRW has two types of repair panels available, a long and a short one. It might be easier to repair what I have. Does anyone have some pictures of what the section should look like. Many thanks. Dave

Dave Attached picture may help. This is a long repair panel fitted to my project P5. On the underside there is a nut welded inside the A post which is for connecting the front wing. With my car there was a large gap between the underside of the A post and the wing so i welded in a 8mm thick plate onto the underside which is visible on the picture. If the rest of the A post is solid, you made a good decision to repair it because fitting the long A post repair panel is a time consuming and tricky job Regards Peter

Many thanks for this Peter. I have been following your work and find it inspirational. I will do my best to match the quality and standards you have achieved. I just need to bite the bullet and get on with it now but unlike your good self I will be hiring some help. I have the car stripped as far as it need to go and have collected nearly all the panels. I will post some pics when there is some decent progress to report. Thanks again. Dave

Thanks Barry. Looks like the long JRW panel is a good match to the original profile. Cheers. Dave
