New to this bodywork malarky, I'm happier doing the spannering. Anyway, needs must and I need to remove the stainless side trim on the front wing of my P5B Saloon but after a bit of exploratory prodding and poking I have decided to seek help on here before I do any damage. So, how do they come off? (And go back on?).
Cheers Simon H

Insert a thin bladed tool under the lower edge of the trim and prise up and off the clip. Do all you can to protect the paintwork. Work your way along to the front. Replace by tilting and placing the strip on the clip and push down to engage over the bottom of the clip. It's quite easy. Be prepared for rusty clips if the trim hasn't been removed for some time. The procedure is detailed in section U4 page 12 of the 3 Litre WM.

Cheers Simon H They are best removed by prizing from the bottom of the trim Simon start at one end clip not in the center release on at a time, use a bit of masking tape under the trim to protect the paint when levering with a tool of your choice? I use an old wood chisel.Refitting is easy hang the trim on the clip top and just push they should spring back on! good luck

Thanks for the info guys! Is the idea to 'force' the trim off the clips or is it to push the clip so as to compress it to allow the trim to come free?

Its light force as the clips spring slightly unless rusty when they just break off. I use a flat ended putty knife/scraper approx 1" wide to slide under the strip from underneath the strip and avoiding the clips
