Has anyone tips on making new door pockets, we do not have access to a sewing machine is it possible to just glue it all. I took them to a seamstress who is only around the corner from me and I think she did a good job I have not glued them on yet. The small black things are what hold the bottom of the pockets onto the door card does anyone know if I can buy any new ones.

Hi Norvin JRW do Map Pockets. You can either buy a new pocket by sending your one back and they will return the new one with your choice of colour for £55 +VAT or you can get the Map Pocket Gloves (pocket without the metalwork) for £38 +VAT if you cannot use a machine. I have not yet made my mind up as to which way i will go with either the Glove or Map Pocket as mine need seeing to aswell

Hi win53, thanks for the advice but when I bought my new carpets (from JRW) I also bought the material to cover my kick panels and enough for the door pockets so really need to use what I have as it's not cheap to buy.

Norvin, you will need to sew BUT, if you can strip your old door pockets and take them to a local seamstress I'm sure they'd be able to do the necessary sewing as it doesn't need much.

Thanks for the photos and info John I take it that the hinges are the bits on the ends which is the same as the door cards but they are not fixed to the door cards are they ?

Only by the Elastic Brian which goes through the Eyelets in the cards and are joined together by the shaped wire on the rear of the cards.

I'm redoing the map pockets on the front doors of my P5 Coupe and don't understand how the long thin metal strip is supposed to be attached to the large outer piece of the pocket at the bottom. There are holes along the metal strip, but none in the outer piece, which it appears is only held against the door card by the elastic attached to the expandable vinyl. Any pictures, or explanation? Thanks

Thanks Bifurcated Split Rivets hold the pockets to the door card they go through the inner Moquette then the steel strip then the outer Moquette and finally the card where they are bent over and hammered in place. The two Vinyl hinges are held to the card by wire and the elastic goes through the two metal eyelets and meet at the rear of the card with a shaped wire. This is the only pics I can find at the moment OOPs just looked at previous posts
