Hello
Does anyone know a quick way of removing the bezels from the instrument gauges? I have removed the gauges from the pods but the bezels don't want to come off for love nor money. Don't wish to break them so maybe there is a technique? The bezels are quite scuzzy so I wish to remove them to clean them up - maybe even chrome them.
Thanks!

This is the way - once unstuck they will turn to line up with the cutouts in the housing - use a rubber glove to stop you hand slipping be careful not to "bend" the glass as it will crack

Thanks for your replies Steve and Phil. I've got the big ones off (speedo + rev counter) but it's the small gauges in the pods I'm having trouble with. I can't even see the tags at the back of the small bezels. I'll spray a little WD40 around the outside of them and leave it overnight and see if that helps.
In case I can't get them off or break them, is it possible to get exact sized replicas in chrome of both the large and small bezels?

Early P5's had the P4 type chrome bezels + an extra wide one. Black was considered modern and cheaper and less prone to reflections/tarnish

I have too much time on my hands.I took the bezels off mine few months back, stripped and polished them then varnished them to keep them protected.

Though personally I think they'd look even lovelier chromed as would then match the rims around the various control switches and the steering wheel horn ring too. How come you didn't do the small bezels? Or did you have as much trouble as me trying to get them off! ;-)

I might get round to the small dials one day although I quite like it as it is. The bezels were stuck on by rust and paint,I just eased the clips with a very fine screwdriver and they came apart quite easily.
