Hi Guys as the winter approaches and the head/body says it's too bl**dy cold to work in the garage I am sure there are lots of hobbies/interests we all share and it may fill in the quiet times on the forum?? There could be just an open section or with subsections? What do you think it's your forum Thanks John.

I like this idea John, it would add another line of interest to the forum. How about you starting it off with some details of the clock you have made?

Its not the cold that is the problem over here. I can take 0-10C, just need to put on overalls. No, it is the summer with temperatures as high as 45 in the shade. That means over 50 inside the shed.
My other hobby is music.

Wimp - my hobby is Rovers all year! I'm with you Phil, but now like John I have insulated doors with central heating. I find I need the creature comforts as I get older. My other hobby is DIY I have upgraded 4 property's in the last 7 years but that is starting to tell me. Major works on my P5B is now carried out by my local friendly garage. Now they know where dipswitch & light switch is the car passes the MOT with no problems now. They failed it once because the nearside lights didn't work as with the dipswitch until I pointed out it was on the floor. These youngster's are still learning.

I've never had a garage to work in but this winter I do have (Oh such luxury) a car port. I'm no wimp,I'll be messing about in my padded overalls and thick jumpers. It's either that or the wife will find me tons of projects to start indoors!.

I race under number 42, unfortunately there's no footage of me racing on the video. The air filter split letting sand into the engine in the first race of the meeting so it was only seen in the paddock. It's the red ts185 that can be seen at 1.24 in the clip.

Found it looks nice and clean must have been before it got attacked by the sand A bit out of context but many years ago I passed my Morse test for the Amateur Radio Class A licence at Mablethorpe My number was close redsunbeam I did this for 11 years and didn't start untill I was 41 now why do I have a bad back My first go at the 24hr Le Mans 24hr hosted at the Alan Prost Circuit, I did 2 more years there, at this one there was 72 entries we finished 7th

I love the comment at the bottom of the picture of the engine crane!.. I didn't keep my engine hoist,it seemed a bit like tempting fate.

I have always had a passion for "anything" mechanical as a young man first married I used to repair and clean clocks and watches in the evenings for a couple of shops in Cambridge basically to pay the bills I have a few clocks which have been on the shelf for a "long" time sorry about the pun As Steve mentioned I am making one as well I hope to get it finished in a year or so This is the 1860 Carriage clock before stripping and cleaning I have done that part and it's keeping time within 5 seconds a day, it is a hour / 1/2 hour strike with alarm. This is the one I am making! a challenge to the readers how are the numerals done on the dial? Warwick you are not allowed to answer I told you The frames/hands are all hand cut

Nice work John, very skilled and talented work going on . Thank for the comments Steve it takes a bit of time to get back to small stuff again I wish the old fingers were as nimble as they used to be not to mention the old lamps! strange going from making 7/16"/1/2" UNF screws and OD's, to making 1.5mm screws. Since March another little job I have been doing for my Bro in Law is a 60' Narrow boat, totally removed and replaced the floors etc, he now has Bed Room, Airing Cupboard/Wardrobe, Bathroom with Flush toilet 125 gallon int tank, hand Basin and Shower, Morse Stove with 3 radiators, 3 bank smart charger with 6 x 125amp batts, Ring Main with Intrinsically Consumer Unit. We are now waiting for Kitchen so I am having a bit of R&R at last!!! Now Steve where's your Rolling Ball Creation
