Yesterday I got in the Rover and started her up to go to town. Put my foot on the brake and nothing, straight to the floor. When I investigated I found that the right hand banjo bolt on the calliper was fitted with an aluminium seal washer. These are not good and too thin anyway. They corrode over time and break. So I suggest that all members check that their banjos are fitted with the correct copper washer for your own safety. I used mm ones but imperial are available on e-bay. I have ordered enough to do the other wheels. Size, if it helps are 10 x 14 x 1.5 - 25 Pack for £2.90 and 12 x 16 x 1.5 mm for 10 at £2.80. There are 10 x14 also available at 1 mm thick but I suggest you go for the 1.5 mm thick. I was lucky not to be on the road. It may be well worth checking the condition of your banjo washers. Cheers Colin I have added a picture of the offending washer. Please watch out. Losing your brakes is not a good experience.
