Thought I would post a few pictures of my first P5. A 3lt which I and my family loved. I bought it on the Isle of Wight and had it for some years. Here she is. Cheers Colin Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

And just for the hell of it, here is my first ever Rover. A 75 that I had when I did my apprenticeship in West Australia many many years ago. My dad and his business partner had 4 rovers all bought in the auction (two of the white ones). They figured that with 4 Rovers, at least one would be running !! And this is on holiday in Austria. Light switch blew at the top of an Alpine pass and my mother-in-law thought we were going to fall over the edge in the dark. Quick by-pass (the switch, not the mother-in-law !) and off we went again. First picture is the "Duchess" thinking about the Stelvio pass !! Climbed up with ease, if a bit slowly. Second picture, "Duchess having a well deserved break by the lake. On the way back through Germany the prop-shaft went. Rumbled into the nearest town and purely by chance came across a Rover agent garage. They were just great and told me that they would help me out no problem and get the prop fixed the next day. We found somewhere to stay and went back in the afternoon the next day. Duly fixed and was told what a pleasure it was to work on such a lovely British car. The place was full of Jags and the like. No BMWs at all. Anyway, they would not take any money but I contributed £20 I think it was for the tea fund, or beer fund, whatever it was. What a lovely experience that was. Wish I still had the old girl (the car, not the mother-in-law !!) Cheers Colin Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted
