I'm looking for a bit of guidance re coachlines. I'm expecting my car back from the bodyshop next week after some cosmetic work on the rear N/S door and the N/S wing. During the work, the white painted coachline has been lost. The next stage of the work will be some cosmetic work on the N/S passenger door and front wing so the coachline will also be lost but this work won't be done until later in the year. The new coachline will be in the correct colour of Silver Birch (car is Zircon Blue) I've got some "Style 'N' Stripe 3M self adhesive white line tape in 1/8" width which I intend to use as a temporary substitute for the sake of appearances but is this likely to damage the new paint when I eventually remove it for the permanent and correct painted coachline? Am I going to have "ghosting" especially on new paint and might it be better just to put up with half a coachline?

If you are going Cellulose Richard I would leave the stick on stripe for a while before applying it when it has fully cured you should be ok! if this heat keeps up it will help

Good point John. Maybe I should wait to find out what sort of paint they've used!
