Hi Len, unless you're really strapped for cash don't fit a torque convertor of unknown history. Torque convertors do have components that wear (one clutch on the sprag, thrust washers and perhaps bent vanes internally.) If it has wear and dirty ATF within this and any other debris will be pumped through your transmission.
On a further note, not all rebuilt torque convertors are rebalanced (vibration prone...how do I know!) just marked, split and rebuilt. My advice is to invest in a quality rebuilt convertor or change over unit. Do ask whether it has been rebalanced and have the sales person or technician write this on your rebuild receipt. Reputable companies don't necessarily do what they state...so get it in writing.
