Not updated for a while due to a real nuts start to the year. Been waiting for the wheels to arrive which were ordered in january and here they are They may devide opinion but they will definately make a statement. Now i have these i can get on with the front suspension when funds allow ! Back to getting the body repairs ready for paint More soon Woz

I can see that you're serious about your new wheels Woz if you've got them displayed in the lounge room...either that or it's a very pristine garage! As an aside if you remove the hub cap and add a spinner it could almost be a D type Jag wheel.

Exactly enigmas, they are a 3 piece billet copy of the D type wheel, i can indeed get a spinner to fit these wheels and i might so i will have two different looks

Ok here we go strip down of the front end has started with removing the rad and surround so we can remove the engine. I've decided it will be a good idea to remove the subframe as well so i will make plans for this also.

Hi Wozzer...what are you going to do about the subframe mounts...if they're OEM they're probably rotted and decayed?

Hi Wozzer...what are you going to do about the subframe mounts...if they're OEM they're probably rotted and decayed? Hello enigmas I will have to wait and see when i remove the subframe but i should imagine they are originals. When i removed the rear mounts when i repaired the crossmember ends these were in very good order but then they never had all the contaminents of the engine bay to contend with. So far all the bolts have undone incredably easily so im hoping for a very smooth removal of the frame. Woz

Subframe removed and stripped and looking in great shape. Crossmember to go on next right after a good bit of cleaning

Great job you are doing! now the subframe is out, i would drill a few holes in the rear part where the torsion spring go threw the subframe as water can't leak away there. Keep up the good work and keep posting!

My new wilwood brake kit arrived today A whopping 310mm vented disc's with four pot calipers should help pull the old girl to a fairly rapid halt. I'm starting the installation of the crossmember so should have some decent pics soon. Woz

New crossmember now in place, just got to fabricate and replace the strengthening gussets between the engine tubes and the original crossmember. Wishbones assembled with new bushes and attatched complete with stub axles to see how it looks. More soon Woz
