Hi all - any advice on an ignition light staying on - going to upgrade the alternator hoping to bypass some of the relays that should be incorporated in the new alternator my car is a p5b 1973 with the newer sdi engine. any advice appreciated

i also did the upgrade and fitted a Lucas A127 alternator with internal rectifier and voltage regulator. These are cheap, easy to get and a direct fit if you still have the P5B alternator bracket. Watch out that you buy the right one as there are differences in mounting position (left or right) and electric connection (you should have the one with the 3 legged connector) and there are difference in A output.

Hi john I'm now looking at putting in a modern alternator with built in regulator . Hoping this will remove some of the relays / 4TR / 6RA / 3AW / . Would you have any info or know where to look. many thanks
