I have at last begun the complete nut by nut rebuild of my 68 P5B Coupe. At present i am making up an entire new wiring loom for my new base unit but was wondering about upholstery which i will have to tackle at some point.
Are the front seats interchangable? I have two passenger seats and was wondering if the reclining handle could be reversed to the other side along with the addition of an armrest (perhaps the seats were identical in the factory and simply made up as drivers or passenger side as needed?)
Also, i am looking to get my hands on a new set of connoly covers in mulberry, is this possible? and is it a DIY job or must i leave the car in somewhere? and are they the same as the originals? I notice that a lot of the leather on P5's and P6's goes quite hard and cardboardy and no amount of treating seems to restore them.
Thanks for your help - M.Pritchard.

The seats are handed but if you are rebuilding you may be able to get over it - you will need the stainless valance trims for the drivers side though plus the arm rest - try David Green. Proper replacement leather seat covers are expensive and the Mulberry colour being a special dye is more so. Its best to have a specialist job done and there are some excellent jobs done Try Wadhams however if you really want to tackle it yourself

I had the front pasenger seat reupholstered but it cost £550 - took a whole hide. The headrest was done and I have leather in place of ambla on the original, but not the seat back. Very expensive to redo the whole car, repair if you can.
