Looks to me like the long chain polymer structure of a synthetic oil has gelled for some reason. Weird ! There is some discussion about similar here - speedtalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=176490Poly-alpha-olefin (or poly-α-olefin, abbreviated as PAO synthetic oil may be the culprit when mixed with a small amount of anti freeze as discussed in the link above.
