On the back of the April edition of Take Five is a 3ltr Saloon reg no: NPD 35D outside a stately home - my question is Where can I get a pair of those super looking wing mirrors fitted to that car? Guidance/recommendations welcome..

Ah, those are very special. Designed to be non-reflective from both sides, so not to dazzle driver or oncoming traffic.

not with you David.. I am on about the "wing" mirrors on the quarter lights of the car- assuming they are specialist made then?

Ah, I didn't spot them. Very discrete.

Would there be a lot of wind noise?

Not with decent door rubbers. I'll ask a friend who already has one fitted to his saloon.

I don't have the mag, but Tex do a large choice of mirrors, and they're suitably period. texautomotive.com/classic_exterior_mirrors.htmlI bought their MQ04 mirrors that fix to the quarterlight, and the mounting is very sturdy and they're beautifully made, but the bracket will damage the quarterlight seal over time. I couldn't find a good way to mount them, so have bought M68990/1 and will drill the doors to fit.
