Hi all, I'm currently doing a number of modifications to the electrical systems of my P5B (hazard lights, relays, and such), and thought it a good idea to finally get rid of what remains of the anti-theft cable in the process. My question: what's considered the best way of doing this? Picture shows the situation. As far as I can see, it'll have to be sawing the thing through. There are no screws, as seems logical, being an anti-theft device. But where? Cheers, Benedict

when my car was fitted with electronic distributor, coil etc:, the Armour cable was cut off in the engine bay close to the bulk head and wire extended taped in to harness to the new coil. the rest of it has been left under the dash.

Initially I removed the whole lot and just cut it off and wired direct. However I just could not get on with the terrible work round BLMC did to accommodate this in the wiring in the cheapest way possible and was used to the proper console ignition switch. So I fitted the old style switch and modified the ignition/battery control wiring to as Leyland and then previously Rover had it

Thanks, gents. I cut the cable off here. As a side advantage, the grommet in the bulkhead now leaves more than enough space for a vacuum hose to lead through, so that's good. Regards, Benedict
