I make it 26 each side plus 12 for the sill trim. eight for the front wing, six each for the doors and quarter (rear side) panel, twelve for the sill trim, total 38 each side 76 in total. Does anyone agree/disagree?

The parts lists says:
Doors - both per side 11 F wing - 6 R wing - 7 Sills - 12
= 36
or 72 for whole car

Thanks Phil. I will make sure I log it this time as I have asked before. I find the search engine does not work very well.

Having said that I tried the search engine again and found what I was looking for... If you take eight for the front wing, six for each of the doors and the rear wing and add twelve for the sill strip the total comes to thirty eight. On the 3 litre according to the w/shop manual there are twenty three clips per side. I would always order more then I need anyway, just in case. I rest my case for the Defence ;D ;D I counted 8 clips on the front wing too

Thats what the parts book said - as Rover handbuilt their cars I think it was just matter of what teh operator thought like fitting on the day. As with positioning of the strips no two cars are identical.
I have checked my front wings and 1 have 6 one has 8 and another 2 have 7!
The one with 8 seems to have the extra one as the spacing is wrong - 6 is on the 3 Litre which has shorter strips on MK1 and 2
Perhaps the parts manual is allowing extra?

Well, as long as they don't fall off! Thanks again.
