John, would you like me to put you in contact with the company that put my screens in? They are on the bedfordshire/cambridge border?

Hi both thanks I have tried a couple of locals and for some reason they haven't come back to me "I wonder why? " I know it's a B job but I have all new clips screws and rubbers and my pair of hands to help so it should be easy if you know your job!!

A bit of luck I was fitting the doors on my "old lady" at my mates workshop he was out but this guy wanted a quote on a car door that had been stoved in by a human missile propelled by a Bouncer at the local disco! anyway we got talking and his friend is an "OLD" wind screen fitter! he gave me his number I rang he is coming next week to do the screens the nice thing is he can remember fitting them as an every day job! "RESULT"

Windscreen fitter came and went he could not remember how to fit the screen and reconed the rubber would not fit had a go at the rear one gave up on that a well! so I tried a few more companies without any success and gave up. So I am having a go myself I have got the screen in with clips and the first SS strip fitted started 13.00 finished 21.00 bit of a job on your own but I will get there

Fitted my screen twice moral of the story don't fit a screen without polishing it first. I fitted my original screen looked fantastic got out the window cleaner drivers side was covered in scratches wasn't like that when I took it out 9 years ago "he said" one was too deep to polish out! so off to David Green for another one! fitted that today what a messy job second time around but all done now if anyone in my area "Cambridge/Ely" needs help in fitting a screen you can always ask! it's not an easy job on your own. Next job rear screen.

Just reading this made me think..........
Wouldnt it be good if we had a pool of people who would "pop round" and help others with jobs like this ?

Good idea Smallfry if there are members say within 20 miles or so (costs these days!) who can help another enthusiast why not Yes Yes Rear screen now fitted making the brackets was the worst part you need load of Dum Dum to fit both screens 2.0kg so far!! Dont want no water penetration
