Hi Glenn I will be doing mine over the winter so a GOOD question I was going to adopt the "it goes back on the same way it comes off" John approach!

The map pockets on my P5B have been covered in leather - I imagine that this is because they were in a dire state before. I think they look the better for it as I think the furflex covers look a bit naff.

I would think Glenn would be like myself and go for originality! although I am sure leather looks good!

What colour is your interior? should be able to re-trim them in the same or a very close match material, send me over a picture so i can have a look at what i have in stock or what i can get hold of. Oh and just incase your wondering i work as a trimmer, just finishing a full interior rebuild on a 1966 Mercedes which i can send pictures over so you can see our work.

It's Buckskin interior and the furlex is like a light gold colour. Many many thanks for the offer but I would probably go more local. I will seek a local restorer and see how it goes.

I recovered these myself. I used the old ones as a pattern and cut replacements from furlex available from JRW. I also got some vinyl to make the side hinges. The perforated strip along the bottom can be sewn into its own pocket to make a bottom hinge and I used some new elastic. I sewed it all together by hand inside out and reversed it through one of the sides before gluing the metal plate in and sewing the final seam together. They look the part.
But then some MOT monkey got muck on one of them and I was not impressed.

Yes JRW sells the furflex material in various colours. I think it's about 54 inches wide. I'm not so sure about using leathercloth though, as the furflex breaks up the large expanse and gives a contrast. A very good foam cleaner will take off any oil stains, or 'White Wizard' usually distributed by 'Kleeneeze'. Nothing is more galling than to see a nice clean interior being spoilt by oily fingers.
Shortly I will be trying a new foam cleaner which was demonstrated to a couple of us 'Powderham Castle' last weekend. It's called 'Black Diamond' and if it's successful I'll put their website address on this thread. You can order it online and if you quote membership of the P5 Club you should get a discount.

It's actually the "Moquette" brand I was thinking off, and JRW sells it by the metre. Many thanks everyone. ;D

That's right moquette. The furflex is the door draught seals. I was very pleased with how mine looked.
