I removed these 2 plates from the PS front subframe of my MK3 today. I hadn't noticed them in years as they were under a thick coat of black paint. After I cleaned them numbers and letters became visible. The top plate has an added hole off centre...an earth connection had been made there by the LPG fitter! Anyone know what these numbers & letters refer to?

An independent pressing company - Press Steel Co Ltd numbers who made the bodywork for Rover, Rolls Royce Rootes and others till BMC took them over and merged it with their Fisher & Ludlow body makers

Thanks for that Phil...but do you know what the numbers refer to specifically?
What about the concourse nuts out there...any ideas?

Not sure whether BMHT holds the old PSC records. - the top one is certainly their body commission number which will identify which car maker ordered it and the number of them made to date. The smaller plate could be a dating plate? 6 being the year 1966? The first 2 the week although that is end of July so may be one of the last Mk3 bodies built just before the August 2 week close down to tool up for the last year of the P5's and all other makers 66/67.
Is yours an early or late Mk3

As far as I know from the rego details it's a 1966 MK3. I think your sleuthing is accurate.
