Folks,
In the coming months I want to inject Waxoyl into the sill cavities on my P5b. Trouble is, looking from the outside after removing the door sill finishers, I am unsure where the divides from the inner/outer sills would be and hence unsure where to drill the holes to ensure I inject into all cavity areas. Can anyone help please? Photos would be ideal (use my e-mail address direct) or if unavailable, a description would help.
Regards to all Richard Southampton

The part of the sill top underneath the step cover is the outer side of the sill centre membrane. The actual flloor just outside the turned in lip will let you in to the other side. There is no need to drill the floor though as there are 3/4" blanked off holes underneath the car

Phil, these blanked of holes would only be on an original sill? The replacement sills don't have these blanks? Please correct me if I am wrong.

They are definitely in orig sills - I cannot remember now whether I driiled them on the replacement sills I have fitted in the past. I will look tomorrow.
They are near the bottom - I am not sure why they are there as if they were water drains the Bittac underseal would hve glued the steel plate bungs into place. there are quite a few along the length

If you remove the SS tred plates from the front door opening drill a 10mm hole either side of the sill join in the center of the opening you will get with a Waxoyl Spray Extender all the way to the front both sides and up to the jacking point at the rear this bit you can't get to you can reach from underneath the jacking point with the correct nozzles. I did this in 1977 when I replaced my sills! refit the SS treds holes gone till next time!

I did this many years ago. I bunged up the drain hole (slit) and then filled the sills with waxoyl. When they were full I removed the bung and let them drain. Unfortunately it was a fairly cool day. On the next hot day the rest of the waxoyl came out as I was going along and sprayed down the side of the car ! (and the car behind !) I had to clean it with white spirit !

The good thing about doing it from under the tred plates is you dont have to get underneath! my old girl still has her origional inners and center sill, I only changed the outers in 1977 because I had a few pin holes, I did what lagain did only I took mine down the Fen (country side to the townies) filled them up with old engine oil and let it drain after a while (old time Waxoyl!) sills are still as good as new with random spotwelds Philip. I do use Waxoyl now
