Hi All
Can anyone recommend how and where to get Rostyle wheels refurbished and re-chromed ?
Looks like JR Wadhams do not offer this service anymore
I'm based in London
ThanksTopny

It is very difficult to do as the wheel has to be split and then safely re riveted. If the new chrome is not the same thickness as the original there are problems and then the new rivets may damage the new chrome. It is possible to have the wheel sprayed, see the advert in Take 5. Apparently the result is good.

Vince (Enigmas) has had a set in Australia split, re-chromed and new wider rims welded on with really nice results. He has added photos in the modified section.
I have enquired to a few places in the UK and no one seems to be able to get the alternative size rim.
But presumably you could get the originals split and have the original rim chromed and then welded from behind.

I recently had a set stripped and chrome powder coated in Essex if you want to pop by and have a look

The powder coat finish is a fine aluminium dust with binder. It looks like "aluminium", albeit a little polished. Grey / shiny with a milky finish. You cannot use metal cleaner on it. It lasts a little better if it has a further clear coat.
How do I know this? I have a powder coating setup, and among other flavours, some "chrome finish" powder.

This was the subject of a Posting a couple of years ago and was in our Magazine! the wheels were finished with Acrylic Lacquer and can be treated the same as a car bodywork. It's difficult to photograph a chrome finish! and like bodywork it has to be flat so any heavy pitting has to be filled.

What about something like this as opposed to powder coating: www.chromespray.co.uk/I have no link to them by the way.
