Has anyone else got AC in their 3 litre?
Mine seems to have been dealer fitted in 1963 and is an Imperial II with a new pump fitted last year. I can only get about a 9C drop in temperate from ambient. It is 23C outside now, and the lowest temperature of the air coming out of the evaporator unit was 14C. This is with the engine at a fast idle.
What do others get? I am sure it used to do better than this.
I have been around it with a UV torch and see not obvious signs of a leak.
The full temp measurements:
ambient 23C out of pump 73C into radiator 64C out of radiator 40C out of filter 45C evaporator heat exchanger 7C air out of heat exchanger 14C

Cannot comment on performance but I would be interested to see how they fitted it all in and the pump drive arrangements in a 3 Litre

One or two interior photos would be of interest, too.

And the pump? It is driven by its own belt off the second slot on the crankshaft pulley.

Thank you very much, interesting. Mine has a third pully for the aircon pump, added at the front, as per the P6 setup; this is out of use since previous owner took off pump . Attachment Deleted

Thanks, but it was not I.
The filter / drier is a bit close to the exhaust for my liking, which is why I made a little heat shield for it.

Yes i see what you mean. I can get the filter/dryer in further forward because the 5B does not have the rad' header tank.
