Just out of curiosity I have two different types of Finishers the holes are a different distance apart the ones that are furthest apart have two plastic spacers and don't fit my 1969 seats so obviously the backs changed at some time? I have the correct ones for my seats just wondered about the history of the change? if anyone knows?

Early V8's had the same thick backs as the Mk3 3 litres - 1969 models had much narrower backs hence the different head rest brackets

Hi Phil I knew that about the seats, the finishers I mean are the ones that cover the seat pivots, I have a spare back in a different colour out of a slightly earlier car the backs are the same thickness as mine but the finishers are different as I described.

I am still not sure what you mean - is the fabric covered one or the stainless ones?

All the seat finshers I have got seem to be the same - the part numbers never changed from Mk3 to late V8's.
They have got plastic spacers and these are not listed at all.
I suggest they were drilled to fit on seat assembly so all would be slightly different?

Hi Phil that would not work if you re-drilled the ones that are furthest apart on the wrong back you would drill into the hinge I will send you some pics.

Odd - it just goes to show just how handbulit these cars were - no two are precisely the same!
I would like to see these as I have another set of old seats in a lock up which I have not looked at recently
