Hi All, Thought I'd add a few pics of my '71 P5b saloon. I've owned the car since March 2017, having bought it from a retired guy in Bendigo Victoria. I understand from him the majority of the work on the car was done by the previous owner, however have little info on that phase of its life. The car was originally white and delivered to Mrs P.E Mitchell of Tyrendarra in Western Victoria on 30/4/71 by Regent Motors of South Melbourne. There was a white tape pinstripe on the car when I got it, but I didn't like the look and removed it. Still undecided about restoring the correct painted stripe due to getting this sort of work done to the required quality. I've fitted a battery isolator due to it being mostly original wiring, a new battery, a Powerspark electronic ignition system and replaced the rotted rear bumper over-riders and re-chromed the rear bumper. The car drives well and gets used on the odd weekend. Being a pom, I grew up loving the shape of the P5's and do think back and wince about how many were bangered in the 80's. Cheers Jason Attachments:

Nice car - reminds me someone here in UK asked me the other day how to get those thin white tyre features. I dont think you get them with new tyres these days - arn't they applied strips?

Hi Eric, The tires were on the car when I got it - the stripe appears to be integral in the tire, not applied afterwards. They're Hankook Mileage Plus which I believe you can still get with the stripe

Welcome Jason,
Great looking car. Where are you? If you bought the car in Bendigo, I can put you in touch with someone in Castlemaine who is very likely to know of it.
