Just wanted to say guys that my search for my dream P5B saloon is now finally over and I have secured an example I can love and cherish.
I will write a piece for the club magazine in time and reveal to you all my new pride and joy once I have collected her. Watch this space. LOL.
Regards,

Cheers guys. I am very excited and its been a long old journey over the years looking and being let down all the time. Not this time though. Ive found the right car for me. LOL
I have already started to collate a list of items I want to get for her, all period of course albeit im having trouble finding some items so maybe folk on here can point me in the right direction to contact the right people
1. A set of white band tyres
2. A set of period correct P5B saloon mudflaps
3. A pair of correct door mirrors ( Not wing mirrors )
4. Ive already sourced a pair of rear headrests albeit I am happy to buy a second hand pair if anyone on here has a pair for sale for a decent price??
5. Details of a stereo company who can convert a period radio to a modern day radio??
That will do for now I think. Don't wanna get carried away. LOL

It sounds very exciting I recall the same feeling when I got my P5B saloon in June 2016 I collected it from Colchester. I ran it for over 12 months before taking it off the road last December for it's renovation which went on for over 9 months, finally getting it back on the road in early September and getting some use out of it until last week when I put it away and I will get it out again in March 2019 when it will have it's coachline re painted and the sill strips fitted. Then we will be ready for next years club meeting up here in sunny Harrogate, that will be a good weekend I think. The Rover did have mud flaps on it when I bought it but after all the work was completed I decided not to have them refitted as I thought it looked better with out and they can also be a muck trap but I guess it's each to their own I have also chosen to have the wing mirrors refitted and not door mirrors again for the looks really. Please keep use all updated with your progress as its always nice to see another P5 or P5B is in the hand of someone who both cares for and loves their car. I will be contacting the Take 5 magazine when mine is finished so that all the members can see what I have been up to and it will be an opportuneity to thak all who worked on it during the renovation

For door mirrors I'd recommend Tex ( www.texautomotive.com) - they've been in business a long time, still manufacture in England, and were often fitted by dealers when our cars were new. They have a huge range of mirror designs for wing and door mounting, and I've found the quality is great.

If you want rear mudflaps you may have to fit new rear springs as even at the standard height they will drag and even twist the rear wing. This is more likely if the springs have sagged and the rear is too as most have by now

Unfortunately I think that may be impossible as I left them at the body shop that did my renovation work but I will see if they can be retrieved

By the way which Rover are you the proud owner of I know that there was a couple of nice ones for sale recently there was an M reg and an H reg that were both nice Many thanks for trying for me and I appreciate all your help. Regarding my recent acquisition I will keep that quiet just for now and until she is safely tucked away in my garage come this Saturday when I will be collecting her from her current owner. Today we have finalised all the ownership details with the DVLA online and I have re-taxed the car online and actioned my agreed value insurance policy with Hagerty insurance which was a very respectable £121 all in which I thought was excellent value. I have also spent a tidy sum in the club shop today online and with the sterling help of our new club raglia officer Eddie I should be receiving those items very soon and my new club shirt in a few weeks time as it has to be ordered. I have also bought a nice soft indoor car cover today also online in RED colour and hope to have this by Friday so I can cover her over once she is home and in my " mancave " along side my Aston Martin which I also own. I have actioned an account too with JR Wadhams which no doubt will be getting a bending too. LOL Its all busy busy and I am very excited and thrilled to finally own one of my all time dream British cars which ive been searching for many a year now. Regards,

Wish me luck please. LOL. Regards, Well the drive home went well. 2 hours in total from Surrey back to Swindon and yes it was raining most of the way so a real good clean up will be on the cards over the coming days and then assess what I need to buy from JR Wadhams to make her as perfect as I possibly can albeit she is quite awesome now. So I have purchased Rover P5B saloon NBT182M which is a known club car and was up until today owned by Mr Bjorn Rise whom I am sure a lot of you will know as he has been a long standing club member by all accounts. As soon as I can work out HOW to compress a picture to the required size to post on here I will do but I am over the moon and glad my near 20 search has finally come to an end. All that is left to do now is enjoy my new toy and pamper, pamper and pamper her which I will be doing. My box of club shop goodies arrived today also along with my log book from the DVLA. Its all go from here on in. LOL. Regards, Brendan69

I've never realized that mudflaps were/are such sort after accessories! Me neither Vince They're definitely not my thing eitherJohn. My preference (for my coupe) is for a less cluttered external appearance...and I don't drive the car on dirt roads or where mud is concerned...to the chagrin of my wife who likes exploring inaccessible B roads/places that I won't drive down! I've got a 'modern' for that.

I've got a 'modern' for that. Each to their own chaps i always say. I just like the look and stance of the car a correct mudflap gives it along with a degree of protection too from road rash. The main thing is though is to keep them 100% free of dirt and crud which is never an issue with me as i don't do either on any of my cars. LOL. Regards,
