I am stripping my car back to a bare base unit for a complete renovation. I have two questions. 1. The centre Intermediate Cross-member (Parts book pg. 1806 item 13) is bolted on. Before sending the base unit off to be stripped and primed is it OK to remove it? Thinking of structural stresses here. 2. Removing the fuel filler cap, the WM makes no mention (surprise!) of the locking bolt in the boot. It is obvious it has to come off first but how is that accomplished?

You could make up a temp brace bar and bolt it in place why your original item is off the car. Regards

Good idea Brendan, thanks. I have solved the fuel filler bolt too.
