As an aside I do the occasional bit of welding and body refurbishment for a local Vespa mechanic (Roberto). Roberto contacted me last September re: a basket case 68 Vespa Sprint that he'd bought in haste, sight unseen and then realized the scooter body had major structural issues...having been seemingly fabricated from several damaged scooters. A few images of the Vespa as presented to me after media blasting. Here's the link to 2 stroke smoke and the refurbishment of the Vespa body. linkHere are some pix of the scooter after the extensive body repairs I completed having recently returned from the paint shop to Roberto's workshop where the mechanicals and "bling" was refitted. The Vespa was finished in 2 pack paint. The first photo below matches the actual colour of the Vespa.
