A bit of a contentious question but here it goes. Does anyone know how many P5B Coupe's there are left on the road? I believe there were just over 9000 made so not a massive amount to begin with.

Difficult to say as they were listed as 3.5 litre / three thousand five hundred litre Rovers... as are P6's.

If your are into stats this might be of interest: www.howmanyleft.co.uk/browse/roverI wonder if other nation's licencing office can provide some details. Can the Club register identify members' Rovers?

No Eric. The club has a library of owners and their cars, but as the cars get passed on over time, it is almost impossible to keep track of them.

That 'how many left' website is notoriously unreliable simply due the quality of the original data used to provide the results, as has been alluded to. I've seen P5Bs registered as 3-litres, for example. Of course, it can be used by some sellers as a means of adding rarity, and thus 'value', ie 'only one left', even when it clearly isn't the case. One of my cars (not a Rover or Jaguar) has always been registered as Mk2, with no model name, from day one. Normally it isn't a problem but some insurance companies insist that they have to go by what's on DVLA's database, so a MK2 it is, even though they accept that there was never such a 'model' and they know exactly what it is. Computers eh Were coupés even differentiated from saloons and if so, I'll bet that not 100% of them were? Even Rover dealers back-in-the-day used to get confused between the P5Bs and P6s, so if they didn't know then, the chances are that the original data was skewed. Anyway, to answer the original question: I've no idea, but it's safe to say it's fewer than 9,018

But in the scheme of things does it really matter?
Data bases and and statistics have inordinate amounts of importance attached to them - they can never be true facts.
You have answered your own question anyway but whether the 9018 is correct is debatable as BLMC's records were of dubious quality.

117 known P5B Coupes in Australia about 8 or 9 years ago. And 85 saloons.
