Hi Guys, My parking pawl went about 10 years ago, but I'm looking to sell my saloon so I thought I should put it right, I see there's lots of good advice on changing the pawl, but I can't find a supplier.. Where do you get them from? Also supplementary problem, the box changes up to third at about 25 mph, should I tighten or slacken the kick down cable? thanks

Changing into 3rd at 25 mph is about right on a light throttle. Have a look behind the air filter where the rod sits and the cable goes down into the box. There should be a rubber bush that the rod turns in, they can disintigrate. There should be a crimped bit of lead on the cable and, from memory, a one eighth gap between the crimp and top of the tube. Otherwise remove the sump to adjust the cable so that the valve is closed when at rest. However if the adjustment has not been mucked about with it may be OK
