Its a key moment in the psychological battle to get it moving under its own steam for the first time! Congratulations !! I'm about to take on a rusty S type (kind of by accident) I may need to pick your brains as I have zero jag experience! Roy

Roy Indeed I’m so proud in a weird way, not that I doubted myself just that it does run and drive, I even rang the original owner that bought it all those years ago to tell him, he said he had never driven it no problem re the Jag I know now it’s not rover but it goes with the topic

Always wanted a 3.8L S Type, thought they were one of the best Jags ever. Never got around to it and it's a bit late now, too much to do with the 3L P5 and a '62 E Type!

I’ve bought myself a mk1 jag recently and a mk2 jag this weekend but think it may be past it’s best! But has a nice plate and will surely provide plenty of spares for people Attachment DeletedHad the mk1 blasted and got some of it filled and primed Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Our family car 1964. At age 22 I was insured to drive it - wonderful! Attachment DeletedI had bought my first Rover by then for 25 quid. It is now in East Anglia, I believe. Attachment Deleted

That's a Durham registration on the Jag. Is that where you hail from ?

It was bought second hand in the Midlands when it was 2 years old. Although my grandfather did attend Durham University!

But what about the most famous/infamous Durham registered Jag? A certain dark green Mk10 reg. MUP11D
