Any help would be appreciated ! Thanks The plate you mention Stanton is the only chassis number! the one on the inner wing DS is the body number which is totally irrelevant.

I went through the same drama with VicRoads in OZ (Victoria) when Iwas first reregistering my P5 Coupe over 25 years ago. I had the WSM at hand and showed the 'office staff' relevant photos and text. They eventually conceded but after a long, frustrating and unnecessary verbal joust.
