Not a good idea unless you have good and high rear springs as they will drag on the ground at the slightest hint of road dipping and bends and even damage the wings.
They are not even very effective
See search.
They turn up on ebay and are expensive

Mudflaps are a bit like Marmite.
Personally I think that they add the finishing touch to the car. My car has them front and rear. The front certainly give some protection from flying stones along the bottom of the doors and the rear protect the bottoms of the rear wings. If you fit them on the rear do not fit them too low and use a blck number plate plastic bolt on the lip of the wing, then if it should get caught on anything the plastic bolt should just snap.

I very recently acquired a set of NOS/OEM type. They cost me a lot but I wanted them as they do if fitted correctly and as George states make the car look great as well as add a degree of protection.
They will only cause any damage if they are fitted wrongly and or the car is driven like it was stolen and TBH you would get that on any car. They are indeed a Marmite option but ive had mudflaps fitted on every car ive ever owned and always will do.
If you want them on your car then just keep searching and be QUICK if a set does pop up as they are super rare nowadays to get hold of.
FYi - JR Wadhams do hold a set of them in stock BUT they WONT part with them for anything and ive tried trust me. Their answer was, " we may need to have a new batch made up in the future if sufficient demand occurs " which TBH will never happen as most folk don't bother with them these days so they will continue to gather dust sadly on JR W's shelf.
